Service Fees and Rebates
Medicare Rebates and Private Health Fund
All of our Psychologists are registered to provide services under the Medicare Better Access to Mental Health Care Inititive. To be eligible to receive a Medicare rebate under this scheme, individuals must have a diagnosable mental disorder and be referred by a GP or Psychiatrist. Referrals for children and adolescents can also be made by a Paediatrician.
The term "mental disorder" is used to describe a range of diagnoses, such as Anxiety Disorders, Mood Disorders, Adjustment Disorders, Eating Disorders, Psychotic Disorders, Drug and Alcohol Disorders, Sexual Disorders and a number of childhood emotional and behavioural disorders.
Rebates can only be provided if we have copy of the referral letter and when the person listed on the referral attends the session.
Individuals may be eligible for up to 10 sessions per calendar year.
Our TYRO Electronic Health Fund Claims Facility means you may be able to claim your rebate at the time of your appointment. Please note that rebates can ONLY be paid into a savings or cheque account that is linked to your Medicare card. Please contact Medicare directly for further information.
Medicare Rebates are as follows
Psychologist = $84.80 per session.
Clinical Psychologist = $124.50 per session.
You may also be able to claim a rebate from your Private Health Fund, depending on the level of cover you have. We recommend that you contact your health fund directly to find out what level of rebate you may be eligible for and what the annual limit is for your cover.
