Adele holds a Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology from the Australian Catholic University and completed her undergraduate and Honours in psychology at Macquarie University. She is registered with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (APHRA) and is a member of the Australian Clinical Psychology Association (ACPA).
Adele is a warm, open minded and compassionate therapist whose work is centred on genuine respect for the unique needs of her clients. Adele uses evidence-based therapies to help clients gain insight into their lives - especially the way past experiences colour their interpretation of current events. Adele is passionate about helping people recognise and move away from limiting patterns of behaviour to live more full and authentic lives.
Adele has experience in a range of settings, including private practice, private inpatient and outpatient, university clinics, applied behaviour clinics, telephone counselling and youth services. Adele has worked with clients from a broad range of ages and cultural backgrounds and has experience treating many difficulties including depression, anxiety, stress, relationship difficulties, gender and sexuality difficulties, trauma, work and academic difficulties, grief and bereavement and adjustment issues.
Adele adopts a clients centred and integrative approach to therapy, working within both short- and long-term therapy frameworks. She draws upon a range of evidence-based therapies including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Interpersonal Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy and Schema Therapy. Adele also incorporates attachment theory and emotion focused therapies in her clinical work.
