Carla Deplancke
Clinical Psychologist
Clinic Days: Mon Wed Thu
Carla holds both a Masters in Clinical Psychology from the University of Sydney and a Masters in the Psychology of Education from University College London. She is registered with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA). Carla also holds a double degree in Psychology and Primary Education from Macquarie University and worked as an Early Childhood and Primary School Teacher in Australia and the United Kingdom prior to working as a psychologist.
Carla works alongside clients in a warm, respectful, and down-to-earth way. She believes people already carry strengths, insight, and the capacity for growth. She sees therapy as a collaborative process where you can slow down, make sense of your experiences, and begin moving toward a life that feels meaningful and aligned with who you want to be.
Her approach is flexible and tailored to each person. She draws from Internal Family Systems (IFS), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) to help clients live in ways that feel more aligned with who they are and what matters to them.
Carla previously worked for NSW health as part of the Suicide Prevention Outreach Team providing therapy for people in crisis. In this role she provided culturally sensitive, neurodiversity-affirming and LGBTQIA+ affirming therapy to people from a wide variety of identities, backgrounds and cultures.
Carla has worked across a wide range of settings, from hospitals to community and university clinics, supporting people through many different kinds of life challenges. She has helped clients navigating anxiety, low mood, self-doubt, intense emotions, the impact of trauma and loss, and the pressures of work, study, and major life transitions.
