Carla Deplancke
Psychologist

Carla holds both a Masters in Clinical Psychology from the University of Sydney and a Masters in the Psychology of Education from University College London. She is registered with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and is a member of the Australian Clinical Psychology Association. Carla also holds a double degree in Psychology and Primary Education from Macquarie University and worked as an Early Childhood and Primary School Teacher in Australia and the United Kingdom prior to working as a psychologist.
 
Carla is a warm and open-minded psychologist who aims to empower and work collaboratively with clients towards healing and creating a fulfilling life. She sees each client as a unique individual who requires a therapeutic approach tailored to their specific needs.
 
Carla’s experience spans a broad range of settings, including private hospital inpatient and

outpatient services, public health and university clinics. She has worked with clients experiencing anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, emotion regulation difficulties, trauma, grief, stress (academic, work and life), procrastination, and adjustment to life changes. 

Alongside her work at My Space, Carla works for NSW health as part of the Suicide Prevention Outreach Team providing therapy for people in crisis. In this role she collaborates with peer workers in providing therapy for people from diverse backgrounds and cultures, and providing neurodiversity-affirming and LGBTQIA+ affirming therapy.
 
Carla welcomes clients of all ages and backgrounds. She draws on her training in various modalities, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing, Systemic Family Therapy, Circle of Security and Emotionally Focused Individual Therapy. She can accommodate clients seeking short-, medium- or long-term therapy.
