Jessica Mander-Jones
Senior Psychologist
Clinic Days: Mon, Tue Thu
Jessica is a registered psychologist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA). She holds a Master of Applied Psychology from Macquarie University and an Honours Degree in Psychology from the University of New South Wales (UNSW). Jessica is also a full member of ANZICA (Fertility Society of Australia and New Zealand) and has worked as a fertility counsellor in various therapeutic settings.
With over 30 years of experience, Jessica has worked across diverse clinical and organisational environments. Her career has included roles with an adolescent team in community mental health, The Cancer Council of NSW, and as a Senior Psychologist within the Student Counselling Service at the University of Technology Sydney (UTS). More recently, she has worked at a leading Sydney fertility clinic supporting individuals and couples experiencing perinatal loss, fertility challenges, and the relational impacts that often accompany these experiences. Jessica has also held teaching positions at UNSW and TAFE NSW and has served as a Workplace Trainer for major health organisations including CANTEEN and Sydney IVF (now Genea).
Jessica has extensive experience providing clinical assessment and treatment for depression, anxiety, self-esteem concerns, trauma, grief and loss, interpersonal difficulties, and relationship challenges. She has a particular interest in working with individuals adjusting to major life transitions (such as becoming a parent), managing stressful life events (including supporting clients with a significant health / cancer diagnosis), and addressing relational dynamics within intimate partnerships, families, friendships, and workplaces.
Warm, thoughtful, and compassionate, Jessica values creating a safe and collaborative therapeutic relationship that helps clients navigate life’s challenges and move toward a meaningful and fulfilling life. She is comfortable working within both short and long-term frameworks, drawing on her training in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Mindfulness, Narrative
Therapy, Schema Therapy, and Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR). Jessica has completed training in the parenting program Circle of Security and has a particular interest in exploring attachment patterns, relational styles, and coping strategies developed within a person’s family system and social context across the lifespan.
Jessica is continually inspired by the courage people show in seeking change and growth in their lives and relationships. She resonates with Dr. David Schnarch’s reflections on the challenge of “holding onto yourself while embracing the other,” which she views as a lifelong personal and professional practice.
