Lachlan Munro
Psychologist

Lachlan holds a Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology from the University of Technology Sydney (UTS), as well as undergraduate degrees from the University of Sydney and Monash University. He is registered with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and is an associate member of the Australian Clinical Psychology Association (ACPA).

 

Lachlan is a warm, curious, and open-minded therapist. He is dedicated to creating a supportive, authentic, and collaborative therapeutic relationship where people can safely explore their emotional, relational, and behavioural struggles and gain a better understanding of what their needs might be. Lachlan feels passionate about helping people build their capacity for change, achieve their goals, and live a meaningful life. He believes each person’s journey in therapy is unique and courageous.

 

Lachlan has previously worked in a variety of settings including private practice, inpatient and outpatient hospitals settings, and university clinics. He has delivered psychological interventions to individuals and groups of various ages and backgrounds. He has experience treating a range of difficulties including depression, anxiety disorders, stress, trauma, chronic pain, adjustment issues, grief and bereavement, and relationship difficulties.

 

Lachlan enjoys working with young people and their families and helping them to find creative and effective ways of navigating the unique changes and developmental challenges that occur during childhood and into early adulthood. He also enjoys working with adults of all ages, and is drawn to helping clients develop insight into the role past relationships play in shaping patterns of thinking, feeling, and relating, and supporting them to develop new ways of being in the world to foster long-lasting change.

 

Lachlan offers a flexible approach to therapy, tailoring treatment to individual needs and goals using a range of evidence-based therapies, including Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, Schema Therapy, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy.
